Fresh Face Mask Cupcake by Lush – Review

Hello, my name is Stephanie & I’m a sugar addict. By preference chocolate. Mmm… Not just any chocolate, I got my brands 😎 Cote d’Or chocolate bars, Leonidas pralines, Milka for the Easter Eggs & Nutella as a spread. If it doesn’t belong on the list above, I don’t want it 😜.

I also firmly believe, or now I should say believed because I changed my mind, that chocolate is meant to be eaten. Love it, cherish it, do with it whatever you want but don’t use it for external use. Bah! Skincare products with a chocolate smell were a big ‘no go’ for me. Who wants to smell like bad chocolate? Because that’s what it is, badly smelling chocolate. All the scrubs & lotions & soaps. Urgh!

but

I discovered the CUPCAKE MASK by LUSH. My oh my, it is heavenly devine!

WHAT IS IT?

It is a fresh face mask that you have to store in your fridge & it expires after about a month. It contains 75g so you can apply a mask every 4 days I guess before you empty it.

Lush claims it cleanses & clarifies. Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto your face and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

Rhassoul Mud – Cleansing & softening
Rhassoul clay is naturally absorbent which means it helps to mop up excess sebum, minimise shine and prevent breakouts. This natural mineral product is an excellent cleanser and grease remover. So it helps to soften skin and gives a deep cleanse, drawing out dirt and impurities.

Linseed Infusion – Protective & nourishing
Linseeds (or flax) are rich in protein, oil, vitamins and minerals.

Glycerine
Helps the skin to absorb the rich cocoa butter, fresh mint, sandalwood oil & vanilla absolute.

Talc
Takes care of silky smooth textures and easier application.

Cocoa Butter Powder
Has skin-softening properties.

Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is deeply nourishing and helps to keep skin soft and well- conditioned.

Sandalwood Oil – Cooling & cleansing
Spearmint Oil – Uplifting, soothing, aromatic
Peppermint Oil – Tingly & refreshing
Fresh Mint – Cooling & invigorating
Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute – Sweet & comforting smell
Limonene
Perfume

All natural ingredients. This is just to die for! I hate all those artificial & chemical ingredients that are not only difficult to pronounce, you probably have no clue what they are neither.

HOW TO

apply onto a clean face, not to close around your eyes or mouth. Let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes (do not let the mask dry, it should still be a little moist) then rinse it off with tepid water.

MY OPINION

❤

The last couple of months my skin gave me a really hard time. I became allergic for a lot of face mask all of a sudden. Glam Glow for example ain’t in my cabinet anymore nor the heating mask from The Body Shop. My skin doesn’t tolerate them anymore.

My skin hasn’t been the clearest the last couple of years so I enjoy applying a mask. And this mask ain’t just nice, it is heaven in a jar. It smells like nice chocolate for once, the mint is so refreshing, it doesn’t sting or tingles at all and it leaves your skin feeling clear, fresh & calm. Less redness also is a big plus. So when suffering from an occasional breakout, this could become your new best friend. If you haven’t found ‘it’ yet, try it. Chances are you’ll ❤ it too!

And most importantly, they do not test on animals! That’s what I look for in skin care & beauty products! Understandable all natural ingredients & animal friendly products…
